What is Healthy Heart Meals USA?

Healthy Heart Meals is a fresh food program that specializes in preparing low-glycemic gourmet meals and delivering them to your home. Each meal is prepared using low-glycemic ingredients, using a 40:30:30 ratio of carbohydrates, protein and fat, tailored to your needs.

How does the service work?

Once you have decided to join Healthy Heart Meals, you will select your food preferences along with other necessary information to enable us to determine how much and the types of food to prepare for you. Based on your preferences you will develop your own food profile to help tailor the program according to your needs. As well, you can go online and access your menu up to 1 week in advance and further customize your menu. Your first delivery can begin within 3 days of the consultation.

What are the benefits?

Not only will you have an incredibly convenient way of eating healthy and great tasting food, some of the benefits of Healthy Heart Meals are fat loss, increased energy levels, better mental focus and decreased carbohydrate cravings.

How much weight will I lose?

The most important aspect of the Healthy Heart Meals program is that it promotes fat loss and not just weight loss. The average person can lose approximately 1-1.5 lbs of fat per week.

When will I notice the difference?

Although results differ depending upon the individual, most people will notice the difference in 1 to 2 weeks.

Even though I'm not overweight, would this program be beneficial?

Healthy Heart Meals was developed to promote wellness and is a lifestyle change. Weight loss is just one of many benefits of eating low glycemic and using the "40-30-30" ratio. Other possible benefits include reducing the risk of heart disease and Type 2 diabetes, as well as increasing energy levels and improving mental acuity.

Does everyone get the same amount of food?

The meal programs are tailored to the individual and are based upon ones lean body mass (LBM), as well as activity level, in order to attain optimal results. Meal sizes do vary amongst individuals. Don't worry; you'll be surprised by how much food you receive!

What if I don't like certain foods or have an allergy?

Unlike other meal services, you get to select your meals and with multiple meal options for each meal each day you don't have to worry about getting something that you will not like or may be allergic too.

How many meals do I get?

You will receive meals for up to 7 days per week. You will receive one package (Tuesday) that will include (3 days worth of meals) and another package Friday that will include (4 days worth of food)

Do I choose my food?

YES - For each delivery of 3-4 days there are 9 choices breakfast as well as 9 choices for lunch and 9 choices for dinner and at least 6 snack options per delivery as well. Some people choose different meals for each day while other people have favorite meals and order them more than once. Our menu works on a six week cycle so there is lots of variety. But if you forget to select your meals, our system will select the most popular meals for you so you don't miss a delivery.

Can I still take my vitamins and other supplements?

Yes it is best to continue taking your supplements along with any other vitamins or supplements. Please note, it is advisable that you consult your health care physician before taking any supplements.

Do I have to stop eating rice, pasta or bagels?

No you don't, but a better source of carbohydrates would be fruits and vegetables. You may still receive what we call "unfavorable carbohydrates" but they will be in moderation. In terms of the amount, these items should be consumed more like a condiment.

Where do you deliver my food?

We will deliver your meals to your home or office and it's ok to change the delivery location. Normally, changes need to be made 2 days before.

What does Level 1, B & M mean after the meal selections?

Level 1 of Healthy Heart Meals was designed to help you get started on the path to success and to help you reach an acceptable body composition. Level 1 consists the first 6 weeks following detox, and is comprised of eating foods that do not contain grains and gluten.

B stands for Basic/Level 2 which is for clients who chose to not follow level one eating, in which they are allowed grains and gluten during their entire 12 week program.

M stands for maintenance which is for clients who have reached their weight management goals and are looking to maintain their results.

What if I'm going away or need to take a day off?

You can stop and start the program as often as you like. All that we require is for you to notify us by Friday 5 PM for a Tuesday delivery and Monday 5 PM for a Friday delivery. You can either call us to make the change for you or login to your profile to make the change online under Book Days Off.

How Do I renew?

Your program will be automatically renewed as you reach the end of your current plan. If you wish to discontinue the service, or not have the auto-renewal give us a call to update your plan.

Do I have to stop drinking alcohol?

Not necessarily. Alcohol is considered a carbohydrate so you should balance it with protein and some fat. If you would like a drink with dinner, all that you have to do is reduce your consumption of the carbohydrates in that meal.
